How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?3 Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, 4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall. 5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. 6 I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.
It is so easy to get discouraged. Satan wants us to give up and write God off. Jesus said only the father knows the time he plans to complete our salvation. Jesus doesn’t even know what season it will happen during.
We are not good at waiting. We want everything now, but Jesus tells us to trust him. During this Advent season we are again reminded of how faithful God is. He promises to keep his promises. As we look back to the first Christmas we see how the ancients waited. We see how they sometimes in their discouragement stopped watching. But God calls the back and tasks us to be witnesses off his great love for us.
Prepare the way of the Lord. Speak God’s Grace to each other every day. Remind each other that His love endures forever. And may His Holy Spirit fill you with confidence in his commitment and strength to keep his promises. God has not forgotten us and he is working behind the scenes to complete our salvation.
