The message is clear, “Everyone who is not like you hates you and everyone like you.” The art of bullying and shaming each other has reached an all new high. What long term effects this message will have scares me.
Recently one of our members commented, “The older I get the more I realize the most important thing in my life has been knowing that I am loved.”
Using shame and slander to promote your cause is nothing new. Satan used this tactic on Adam and Eve. “If God really loved you He would let you eat the fruit from that tree. Can’t you see the fruit is good.” The conclusion God must not love you. After they ate the fruit, God must really hate you.
We know that children who grow up in an environment that teaches them they are not loved has horrible lifelong consequences, but we think this is an effective political tool? This is demonic at its core. It is a lie from Satan himself designed to convince us that life is hopeless and everyone else is to blame.
St. Paul says in Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
St. John also says in 1st John 4: 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
My friends, we need to dispel this lie. We have been called to be Christ’s hands, feet and voice to tell all people they are loved by God.
