It never ceases to amaze me how much easier it is to look back and see God’s grace and yet it remains so hard to look forward and trust in His grace. That is why it is so important for us to remain in His Word. This is a constant theme of scripture. The Old Testament repeatedly recounts the works of God’s mighty hand and encourages us to continue believing in God’s love and grace.
Satan’s goal on the other hand is to scare us, to cause us to doubt. He wants us to question if God is real to even believe we can do a better job at taking care of ourselves.
So how do we respond in the midst of all the chaos that goes on around us?
St. Paul writes in Romans 8
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Remember the mighty acts of God’s hands particularly the work of Christ Jesus our Lord, who laid down His life for our salvation and again remember “He did not bring us this far to leave us.” He who has begun this great work in us will bring it to completion.
