As an older Congregation we can’t help but wonder about our future. Health issues and chronic illness surround us. With such a large number of our members in their mid eighties how are we going to keep this going? But God continues to bless us. We have new members and he continues to provide for our financial needs and more.
I am so moved by our support for the refugees from Ukraine. And yet can’t even begin to imagine the grief that they feel. I think back to our experience with Katrina and think this is so much worse. Entire cities destroyed not by natural disaster, but by the hand of men. But I know God is still in control. I see the pictures from our shelter in Romania and I am filled with profound shared grief, but also a sense that God is using us to save these people’s lives.
I see these things and ask will we ever fix this and I know humanity cannot. But Jesus broke the bonds of sin and death. He has won the victory. He is preparing a shelter for us. One day we will also evacuate this planet and he will shelter us until the day our new home is ready and that new home will be free from sin and death.
In the mean time we continue to give each other Jesus and the Hope that only he can give.
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
