Kocsis Kontemplations

As I think about our society and the current trends in ideology. The one that grieves me most is the confidence that there is no God. It is disturbing in many ways. Most disturbing is the hordes of struggling people who will never seek help from a God they do not believe exist.  As a Christian I believe it is government’s role to act as God’s agent to protect and to serve the people. Thus they are authorized to establish laws and enforce them for the sake of the people. Historically this has been done with the understanding that there is a God and Government is under God. In most cases even in those places that believe in different gods.
When the concept of God is removed something has to replace it. Who determines what government should be, the people, the rulers or the ruler?  It then becomes who has the most power.
If all people are equal then all people must be protected. It then becomes the government’s responsibility to care for all my bodily and emotional needs; to clothe and feed me. It then is the government’s job to richly and daily provide me with all that I need to support this body and life and if there is no God and we are all equal then all people should be cared for and protected in the manner they desire. This just cannot work.
If only we had someone that had infinite resources, wisdom, and compassion who could step up and serve all of us. Oh, that would be Christ Jesus, the son of the living God.
